This was going to be a Thank You note; short and sweet, but what we have to thank you for is so extensive that it could not be expressed in a mere few inches. So please accept this letter with our gratitude.

We sat on the fence, looked at resale houses, talked to builders, but were not convinced that the time was right or that we would get exactly what we wanted. Then we met with you, saw the quality of your model as well as works in progress and felt that we had found a team that knew how to listen. It was time to stop sitting on the fence.

The end result; you have built for us a stunning residence. The quality, beauty and attention to detail is obvious. We still have strangers stop by to ask us who the builder is!

Thank you for being available; whenever we phoned, our call was either answered immediately or returned shortly. Our questions were answered fully and we were never made to feel that we were imposing or "underfoot". You made us feel that you had things in complete control, but we were the boss.

Thank you for being on the job site and your "hands on" approach to construction. A shirt and tie may be nice, but we would rather have a contractor who not afraid to get dirty.

Thank you for being as attentive and available after we moved in as you were during construction. The few minor items that needed attention were addressed personally and promptly.

Thank you for showing us the significance of a "closed envelope" and building green. "Green building" seems to be an overused catch phrase, but with your knowledge, the value is apparent, for the planet as well as our comfort, and pocketbook!

Thank you for our insurance premium; with the superior construction, hurricane resistant glass and foam attic insulation, apparently this house is considered as close to "bullet proof" as you can get

Thank you for our electric bill; building with insulated concrete forms guarantees that the interior of our home is always at least 15 degrees cooler in summer and warmer in winter than the outside temperature. The heat / air conditioning unit seldom needs to run.

Thank you. We contracted with you to build our house, instead you built our home.

Built our retirement home with pool. 3500 total sq. ft. Very thorough and very accessible while we were still in CT. Went beyond the scope of the plans to make us very happy.

We met the Cantins while visiting our inlaws. Went to his house and sketched out our plans and Don mailed them to us until we were happy with the final plans. A very enjoyable process working with the Cantins.

"My grandfather was a builder; my father was a builder; and I renovated and restored houses while living in southern new England. Although I am not an expert on building, especially in Florida, I do have some knowledge about the trade."

After we bought our lot in SGC we spent two summer vacations going through models of builders in the area. Some had nice homes, but my wife and I wanted something that was different and custom build and the vast majority of builders would only make a few changes to their models. I decided to do some homework and I found three builders who would build to our specs, one being Don Cantin. By this time we had also drawn up a list of what we wanted from our builder which I will share with you:

Someone who would draw/follow plans to our specs

A builder who stressed quality

A business small enough where the owner was personally accessible to us, but large enough to be financially sounds

Someone who lived in or near SGC

Someone who we felt we could trust, especially being 15 miles away

A builder who would not nickel & dime us after we negotiated a price

Two days later we returned to the Cantin Model to see the preliminary plans and we were amazed. There was our home, to our specs with everything we wanted and more. Our house is three bedrooms, two fireplaces, two baths & a pool bath with about 2000 sq ft under air. it includes a storage room off the garage. Although it was more than we wanted to spend it was everything we wanted.

Our decision to have Cantin Builders build our house was an excellent one. Periodically, my wife's sister would check on the house and the workers would tell her Mr. Cantin would not accept anything shipshod; they'd be off the job. This was also relayed to me by other workers when we moved here. Anything that was faulty when we moved in was quickly fixed. Also included with the house was a ten year warranty.

Right after we moved in my sister and brother-in-law, a developer in NY, came to see the house and were really impressed with everything including the floorplans and the workmanship. he commented about how we had put our trust in the right company. I certainly agreed. Cantin Builders did everything as agreed upon. The whole Cantin family and their associates have been wonderful to us from day one. This is why I recommend, without any reservations, Cantin Builders to build you dream home".

Don Cantin started  construction on my new home Aug 2009 and finished July 2010. Cantin Builders are quality builders and a great company to do business with I would highly recommend Cantin builders.

I hired them to build new " green" home.

Cantin Builders were the first builders that I have dealt with in my life that had a problem-free walkthrough at the completetion of the project. There have been no problems since then and we were only the 69th "green" home to be built in Florida! They have been great about follow-up. Anything that I've needed over the last few years, I have been able to go to them and they have been absolutley on the spot with their assistance. Because of the way they built the house, my utility bills have been under $100 a month and thats including air conditioning!
